The Ferndale Repertory Theatre presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a play based on the popular children's book by Barbara Robinson. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Meet the Herdman kids. They steal, scream, fight, and smoke cigars (even the girls!). Their classmates are only safe from them at church. That is, until an innocent comment brings the Herdmans into church and starring in the annual Christmas pageant. Soon the congregation is running for cover! Who would have guessed that the parents, teachers, children, and especially the Herdmans could end up discovering the true meaning of the season?

Community involvement is also a large part of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Director, Harper Mosley, has chosen a cast of 42 who volunteer their time. Included among the seven adult actors are 35 children from all over Humboldt County. The production team is comprised of Joe Collins and Harper Mosley (set), Joe Collins (lights), Denise Ryles and Carol Rocha (costume), Ray Noggle (sound), Carol Howe-Conners (vocal), Robin Robin (poster), and Ellin Beltz (stage management).
Productions begin Friday, November 23rd and continue every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00pm through December 21st, with matinees December 2nd, 9th, and 22nd at 2:00pm. Benefit performances are scheduled for Thursday, November 29th for Rio Dell Elementary School, Friday, December 7th for Fortuna High Safe & Sober, Friday, December 14th for Soroptomists International of the Eel River Valley, Sunday, December 16th for the Senior Resource Center and the Ferndale Community Choir, and Thursday, December 13th for the McKinleyville High Safe & Sober.
