Spider's Web
The Ferndale Repertory Theatre is proud to bring to its stage, Agatha Christie's murder mystery, Spider's Web. Preview performance is Thursday, October 3 at 8:00pm; all tickets are $5.00. The performances will continue every Friday and Saturday evening through October 25 at 8:00pm with matinees on Sunday, October 13 and 20 and Saturday the 26th at 2:00pm. Ticket prices are $12.00 general admission and $10.00 student/senior. Actor's Benefit Night, where all ticket proceeds go to the hard-working actors and crew, is Thursday, October 24 at 8:00pm. Take one body behind the living room sofa in a country house, add a secret drawer in a nearby desk, a hidden entryway to the library next door, a suspicious death from months back, and an impending, very important meeting. Season this with a plethora of clues and suspects. What do you have? A murder mystery by England's Mystery Queen, that's what.
Clarissa Hailsham-Brown, wife of an older husband Henry likes to play games. She asks three of her male friends to sample, blindfolded, three glasses of port and tell which is superior. All three glasses, in fact, are poured from the same decanter. In addition to the three men, also on the premises is Pippa, the young daughter of Clarissa's husband's first, disastrous marriage, along with Elgin, the butler and his unseen wife, and Miss Peake, the hearty gardener. Clarissa's husband informs her that he is meeting at the house of a Distinguished Foreign Visitor. Clarissa promises to make sandwiches and coffee. Then the corpse is discovered. And someone has telephoned the police, so they arrive in short order. Where to put the body? Who dunnit? Will the police leave before the secret meeting? If not, how will Clarissa ever explain the whole situation?
Director Gene Cole has put together an outstanding cast to bring you the thrills and twists that Christie is famous for: Gloria Montgomery, Bob Service, Arnold Waddell, Bryeon Earle, Tracey Larsen, Janet Waddell, Albert Martinez, Farnad Darnell, Jim Buschman, Paul Vinci and Gene Cole. Design positions are in the capable hands of Joe Collins (Set and Lights), Vicki Charlton (Costumes), Gene Cole (Sound), Geoff Spenceley (Dialect Coach) and Carol Martinez (Stage Management).

In concert with the opening night on Friday, October 4 at 8:00pm is a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception at 6:30pm for the Arachnophilia Show, featuring "A Celebration of Spiders" from a number of local artists in the Art From The Hart gallery. Daryl Mason and Peggy Harper of the Vinatura Winery generously donated wine for this reception.
