The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical arose from the story of the Trapp family singers who fled their native Austria to escape the Nazi regime. The story of the family was told in a novel by the Baroness von Trapp titled The Trapp Family Singers. However many Americans remained ignorant of the family's story until it was turned into a musical. Bringing this musical to life are co-directors Vikki Young and Marilyn McCormick with the talents of cast members Jenaha Hochhalter as Maria, Bill Cose as the Captain Von Trapp, Ariel Graham as Mother Abbess, John McKinney as Max, and Geri Cose as Elsa. The Von Trapp children are Jessica Flynn, Wesley Fuller, Anna Cooper, Mara Fuller, Austin Wheeler, Kendall Rogers, and Estelle Fuller. Supporting cast members include: nuns, Nanette Heidtman, Shannan Dailey, Ashton Powers, Erin Jones-Martin, Katherine McIntosh, Patricia Stanley, Anne Thaler, and Lori Mellen; Michael Roscoe is Rolf and Herr Zeller, Jeremy Cotton is Franz, Diana Cooper is Frau Schmidt, Dave Fuller is Admiral von Schreiber, and Karen Fuller is Baroness Elberfeld. Design credits go to Gary Franklin (set & light), Vikki Young (costume), Jim Berry (sound). Stage management is in the capable hands of Carolyn Cotton. This uplifting story of family, love and courage is a must see for the entire family! Call (707) 786-5483 for tickets and information. |
