Auditions

Be Part of the Show!

For Actors & Actresses:

Anyone can audition to be in a show. Auditions are typically held 2-3 months before a show is to open, allowing 6-10 weeks of rehearsals. Most rehearsals are held at our rehearsal space in downtown Eureka, moving in to the theatre for the last 1-2 weeks prior to opening night.

Audition notices are sent by email and are posted below. To join our audition list, please use the mailing list form below.

For Designers:

Each show needs a design team, including a Director and Designers for the Set, Costumes, Sound and Lighting. For each musical, we also need a Musical and Vocal Director and a Choreographer. Each of the designers receives a small stipend for his or her work.

We are always looking for Designers! If you would like to design one of the shows you see on our season, or if you would like us to consider a specific show that you've always wanted to do, please contact us at any time.

Directing or designing a show for the first time can be a daunting process. If you are interested in being a designer, but have never done so before, we can help to ease the process by pairing you with an experienced designer. Contact us so we can talk about what is possible.

For Production Crew:

Every show includes many additional people behind the scenes, making it all go smoothly. The production crew is headed by a Stage Manager, who is present for the entire production process, from the beginning of rehearsals to the very last performance. The Stage Manager receives a small stipend for his or her work.

In addition, each show needs crew members in various capacities: Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator, Stage Crew, Dresser, Hair and Makeup Stylist. These individuals join the show during the final week of rehearsals and are present for all performances. No experience is necessary! We can train you for any of these roles.

For Whatever Else Needs To Be Done:

There is always work to be done in putting together a show. If you have a couple of hours or days to spare, you might help with Changing the Marquee, Set Buidling or Painting, Costume Construction, Poster Design, Program Design, Poster Distribution, or Publicity. Some shows require very special skills such as helping actors with special accents or other languages, special choreography (such as for fights), constructing or finding special props or stage settings, developing dramaturgy (informational items about the show that are posted in the lobby) or school study guides, and so on. If you have one of these special skills, or if you would like to be involved but are not sure how, let us know. We'll find something for you to do.
