HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical

by Gerome Ragni, James Rado & Galt MacDermot
Directed by Vikki Young, Tom Phillips & Linda Maxwell

April 3 - May 4, 2008

The Year is 1968. The place is a park in Greenwich Village. Billed as the classic American Tribal Love Rock Musical, Hair follows "The Tribe", a group of politically active friends, long-haired hippies of the Age of Aquarius, fighting against conscription to the Vietnam War and living a bohemian life in New York City. The issues that are addressed, from racism, violence and drug use, to loyalty, patriotism and social acceptance, are just as relevant today as they were 40 years ago, and, combined with rock and roll classics like "Age of Aquarius" and "Good Morning Starshine", make a fine tribute to the sixties generation and its ideals. Sponsored by Ken Houldsworth, CFP of LPL Financial Services and Don Brown State Farm Insurance of Fortuna. Additional support from Woodrose Cafe.
