Meet the Staff
Marilyn McCormick - Director
Marilyn, born in Johnstown, PA. in 1945, has been doing theatre all her life. Her brother and sister (who, by the way, are both in show business) organized BackYard Productions when they were children, performing for the neighborhood. Throughout her schooling she was involved with drama clubs, debate clubs, glee clubs, church choirs and entertainment fundraisers. She went onto the prestigious Drama School at Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon University.
Marilyn has worked at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., The American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut, the Sharon Playhouse in Sharon, Connecticut and the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA.
At the Ferndale Repertory Theatre, she has directed, stage managed, acted since 1982, and was a member of the Board of Directors, becoming its President until hired as Artistic Director in 1996.
Daniel L. Lawrence - Technical Director
Daniel got into theater by blowing up a train. That was as special effects designer/operator in the 1985 production of "Ghost Train".
From that loud beginning he went on to stage manage, design sets, build sets, lighting & sound design, acting and even directing. Daniel became Master Carpenter in 1986, went on to become Technical Director in 1988 and remained there until 1992 when he was diagnosed with cancer after which he lost his ability to speak. For the next 10 years Daniel did a few set designs, built some special pieces for shows and recovered. In 2001 he was slated to design "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" when circumstances placed him in the directors seat
as well. Since then he has become increasingly more involved and has recently returned as Technical Director/Master Carpenter. Since
1985 he has been involved in over 120 productions in some form or another.
